This reflection first emerged under Wicked FairyTale as a sculpted card—and like all art, it carried layers. Now, I’m bringing it into the Cards & Compass series on True Path, where we don’t just look at the cards—we listen to what they’re teaching us about transformation, resistance, and release.

Today, we explore a new card that is a Wicked FairyTale® exclusive and why I believe it’s the most missing component to Tarot decks.

Can’t find a reference to a Sentry tarot card anywhere? Welcome to the Wicked  Wicked FairyTale® world of Tarot.

A previous blog post covered the typical cards found in a standard tarot deck, skimming over the references for major and minor arcana cards. You may already be aware that I am not a typical person; I continually challenge the status quo.

I know I am not the only creator, and certainly not the best. But I am unique; my perspective and thoughts always ask one of two questions: why or why not?

When I set out to create this deck, I considered how I wanted the cards to feel both physically and emotionally, what aesthetic I sought, and how to bridge the gaps I struggled with as a tarot reader. This was not only the card meanings or imagery; I felt something was missing from the suits.

Now, I understand that it's a bold statement for something that has been around for centuries before becoming more standardized in the 1900s, but hear me out: if the major arcana is more esoteric and the minors are day-to-day... What merges the two?

Ah-ha!

See? The Sentry card for the four suits solves this issue, and I am excited to incorporate this radical change into my deck. I acknowledge that other deck designers have added content and have extra cards above and beyond the usual 78, but I have not seen a bridge like the one I have created.

Regardless of whether I'm the first to do it or a follower who is unaware, I'm having a great deal of fun creating this content and am excited to have these unique cards included in my deck.

Until next time,  let your inner compass guide you. 🧭
